Cassie's Family Fun Day
Story
Cassie's Family Fun Day is a community and family friendly event in support of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, raising Funds for Ovarian Cancer Australia and promoting awareness of Ovarian Cancer.
Cassie is a mother of two who was diagnosed in August 2012 with Ovarian Cancer. Her story is a positive one, and she is passionate about raising awareness for this silent killer.
Cassie's Family Fun Day will be held at Belair National Park on Sunday, 10th February 2013, at Government Farm 1 and 2 (Queens Jubilee Drive). Gates open 8am to sunset, Stalls and entertainment from 10.30am to 3pm. There will be loads of entertainment for the kids, including balloon animals, green machines, face painting, plus plenty of food (BBQ and cupcakes) and drinks.
To get free entry to the park, print out this page and show it at the gate. Donations will be taken at the awareness stand at the event rather than at the front gate upon entry.
February is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, a time when Ovarian Cancer Australia focuses on informing women of the risks and symptoms of the silent killer, ovarian cancer. So bring your chairs, picnic rug and the family for an afternoon of fun, and learn more about the early warning signs and symptoms of Ovarian Cancer. Funds raised will help to improve the lives of women in their fight against ovarian cancer, raise funds for research, and help to save lives through promoting the symptoms of ovarian cancer in the community.
A big thank you to our supporters, including Belair National Park, Eden Hills Scout Group, Port Power Football Club, HappyKatz, Blackwood CFS, Bellevue Heights Primary School, The Green Dispensary, Blackwood Print & Copy and all the wonderful families donating their time and cupcakes on the day.

- In comparison, the overall five-year survival rate for women diagnosed with breast cancer is 92%
- Each year, over 1,800 Australian women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and around 1,000 women will die from the disease
- 70% of patients diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer will have a recurrence within 3 years
- There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer
- The disease can affect females of all ages
