Story

For the month of May, Phoenix Trading and our fabulous network of Traders will be working hard to raise awareness and funds for our partner Ovarian Cancer Australia. We have set ourselves an ambitious target of $25,000 but we know, with your help and support that we can do it!
 
We are selling a Pack of assorted greeting cards and a Memo Block in support of the charity. The Pack, which contains 8 greeting cards and 4 gift cards, is great value at $30 and the 900 page Memo Block is just $25. A purchase of either a Memo Block or a Pack will generate a donation of $5 to the charity. These products are available exclusively through our Phoenix Traders. If you do not know a Trader, please email info@phoenixtrading.com.au with your name, contact details and postcode.
 
Purchase our special charity pack of cards and Make time in May with the people you are close to. Spend 10 minutes, write 10 cards, & 10 people will remember how you made them feel.

Of equal importance to our fundraising activity, is increasing awareness of the disease and the symptoms that every woman needs to know. Please see below:
 
In Australia, three women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer every day. It could be you, your friend, your partner, your sister, your mum, your gran or your daughter.
 
There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer and the Pap test does not detect the disease.
 
Women who are diagnosed with ovarian cancer report four types of symptoms most frequently:
Abdominal or pelvic pain.
Increased abdominal size or persistent abdominal bloating.
Needing to urinate often or urgently.
Difficulty eating or feeling full quickly.

    • In Australia the overall five-year survival rate for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer is 49%.
    • In comparison, the overall five-year survival rate for women diagnosed with breast cancer is 92%
    • Each year, over 1,800 Australian women are diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and around 1,000 women will die from the disease
    • 70% of patients diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer will have a recurrence within 3 years
    • There is no early detection test for ovarian cancer
    • The disease can affect females of all ages
